![]() That ease means more photos.Ī valuable resource: I came away appreciative of our more abundant water resource in the Great Lakes states. It helps that most of us now have a lightweight phone/camera in our hip pocket that is easy to lug around when hiking. I’m not saying it in a bad sense, but how people document their experience is constantly evolving. More than once, we were on a trail where we had to wait for a group of smiling youngsters filming selfies for a TikTok video. We live in a social media-fueled world, and I had to chuckle a number of times when I saw people lining up for that perfect shot. But, if you haven’t traveled in a bit, you’ll notice something. So that’s what we did recently, taking our kids to another handful of national parks and beautiful sites in this great country. So we pointed to the summer of 2022, and it was another cold winter night that we took a second stab at booking the much-anticipated trip. That wasn’t in the cards for 2021, when the situation around COVID-19 was still tenuous, despite the rollout of mass vaccination. We did get some flight credits, and figured we’d be able to cash them in again.
